A lovely tribute to Alwyn, William - sad to hear that.

Excellent piece and a fine tribute to a superb artist.

This is a lovely piece and tribute to Alwyn…

A fine tribute - there'll never be another Alwyn: his enthusiasm was totally infectious and virtually irresistible. He is SO missed, by so many of us.

I used to enjoy watching Alwyn. Encouraging, enthusiastic, unpretentious and with a pleasant manner. I seem to recall he finished his programmes with " Why don't you have a go, it's easier than you think". It's a nice thing to have influenced so many. Thanks William. (Your painting is very Alwyn-ish.)

Indeed, it's a lovely tribute William

Lovely tribute, he is a great loss to the art world.

A great tribute William. Love the spontaneous, looseness of this.

Thank you everyone for those kind comments and I think many people who remember Alwyn will miss his infectious way of trying so many to pick up a brush and have a go, he used to say it’s easier than you think but you also need a little magic in your hand and he had that in abundance and to me he stands alongside John Constable who was Alwyn’s favourite artist but I’m sure someone will disagree? It’s just how I feel and we all think differently. Thank you.🙏

A super tribute and painting William. He was an honest, talented painter and gentleman.

Thank you Fiona for your honest words he was a true gentleman! By the way what has happened to your art even don’t see Alan Bickley work on here. Do miss you both😉

I did this from a sketch Alwyn had done on his sketching paper, he was painting a lot on this kind of cartridge paper and this was in one of his books. I used it as it’s typical of Alwyn sketching a scene of this nature which of course was in Norfolk. I did mine on Fabriano 140lb not but Alwyn’s was far better than my effort!😂 A wonderful honest and talented artist and will be sadly missed by so many who remember him. R.I.P.
