On the coast? by William Jones

Well it looks to be well planned out, so I’m impressed William. It’s a lovely atmospheric coastal scene… you’ve kept the distant yacht and land mass loose and out of focus, a masterstroke no less. And I do like the lighter ladder which breaks up the darker harbour jetty or breakwater (known as counterchange of course)

Superb painting William.

Very effective. A great deal of experience behind this one.

This is so delicately painted, it's a real beauty!

Beautiful subtle painting, the muted tones are lovely.

Thank you for all those wonderful comments and yes I was happy that it was a bit more loose than usual but as a whole I had second thoughts about putting this up? The church was an add on at the end, I though it would hopefully improve on the L shaped composition? I did not honestly think it was any good.🤔😄

A lovely watercolour love the touch of red!!

Think it works very well William, it's loose and atmospheric with a well balanced composition.

Wow, William this is one of my favourites of yours, absolutely love it!

Thank you all for your fabulous comments, I’m shocked but so grateful!👍👍🙏

Super hazy light. I can almost taste the salt on my tongue.

Half imperial size watercolour of a made up coastal village scene, Saunders not surface. In my opinion it’s ok but no thought had properly gone into it and I just went for it as I went along?
