Waxwing and Sorbus Berries

Lovely, Frank - Happy Christmas to you.

Very nicely painted Frank and what a beautifully bird the waxwing is.

Really good Frank and happy Xmas to you too

Lovely, Frank, Happy Christmas to you.

All the best to you and your family Frank and looking forward to the time when we can meet up and paint together again - let's hope it will be sooner rather than later.

Beautiful. Merry Xmas Frank.

Bright, fresh and seasonal. I like your painting. I've only ever once seen a waxwing in our garden. Had to look it up in our bird-book, I thought it had escaped from some exotic bird-world. What a treat to see it. Merry Christmas to you, Frank...and keep up the good work.

Love this Frank, especially the berries against the gorgeous blue background. Seasonal greetings and wishing you a very Happy, healthy New year.

Love this, great birds Frank. Hope you have the best this Christmas can give.

Love the bright and cheery palette and the composition. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Frank!

Thank you all for your good wishes and comments. I really enjoyed painting this one, which was from memory, but had to look up the colours for the waxwing.

Fabulous birds, so exotic and a smashing messenger of your seasonal greeting Frank. Have a lovely Christmas and all the best of health and happiness for 2021.

Beautiful and great example of the potential of gouache.

For the Christmas that never was, hope you can all find some joy in this most difficult of years. Very seldom do we get waxwings this far from the coast where I live, but when they do come, it's fantastic to see them. They seem to love Sorbus berries that remain on the trees. Our Sorbus tree drops it's berries far too soon for waxwings though. Gouache with a few digital snowflakes and text on Bristol board 250gsm A5.
