I love scruff - especially this one - so fresh and appealing.

Don't you dare call this scruffy Fiona - I absolutely love this.

Very lovely Fiona. Let's have a party.

you love painting Fiona and it shows in your work , im the same I love to sit down breath out and say what shall I create . I love this one .

This is super Fiona!

It's so full of energy, and you feel they are about to move Fiona. A good one. With all your trade marks.

Lol....thank you very much Michael, Adele (it's VERY scruffy) Michael M, and Dennis for taking a look. It really was a 'rush job', after clearing up it got to about 20.30 and I was determined to paint them!lol Thanks again.

Sylvia thank you so much, I've just been admiring your pen work. John, they have been moving and shouting out to me all day, they put a spell on me, I'm sure of it!lol Thanks very much.

You have such a lovely light touch with your pen work, Fiona. It makes the fragile poppies look as if they are dancing. Lovely!

Fresh and happy.

Lovely and energetic Fiona. Love the colours. Nice pic update too.

I like this Fiona, different from your landscapes, it's like a floral fireworks display. Love the seemingly random spontaneity of it all and the pen marks ( wow that sounds upmarket) but you know what I mean, I hope. Nice one Fiona.

Beautiful colours and lovely strong darks

Very natural not scruffy at all Fiona. I love your bit of wall, greenery and your poppies. A great photo of you too!

Bursting with life Fiona. The quick pen and washes often turn out to be the best don't they. Also, that's a nice picture of you!

I wish I could do scruffy like you, Fiona.. this is fabulous!

It definitely caught my eye this morning Fiona. It's full of life - down to your pen work! As Carole said, that wall is very attractive, perfect against the poppies.

This is fantastic, Fiona. Love it!!!

So spontaneous Fiona. Beautifully done. The line work is terrific and you have made the whole thing so satisfying to look at. It's amazing what germinates from the old compost heap isn't it?

Many thanks Jennifer and Sylvia for your comments much appreciated.

Thank you Henry for your comment on both my pictures...lol Malcolm, you've been reading too many artyfarty books, all this upmarket speak!lol I do know what you mean and thank you very much. By the way, I haven't forgot the castle pen & wash. Thanks ever so much Dermot, Carole, Louise, ( this is the photo of myself that I use to keep the cats off the garden) Heather, Marjorie, Mia and George, my compost heap is a a constant source of new seedlings for the garden, I expect yours is the same! Thanks again.

Love pen and wash, Fiona, this is colourful and lively!

I love scruff too and I love this compost heap Fiona! Great study!

Thank you very much ladies....any time you want to come and paint my compost heap feel free...lol

I did miss this one F, my favourite flowers are wild ones, and a good quick sketch as always.

Scruffy but clever

This is so full of life and energy, Fiona! What a wonderful, delightful piece - superb use of quirky lines, beautiful washes and gorgeous hues. A real winner!

Lots of movement in this Fiona, love it for its free and uninhibited look!

Lucky you Fiona :). This is a lovely, fresh sketch.

Alan, Peter, Seok, Chandra and Sarah.....thank you very much!

This is so full of life for poor poppies that have been confined to the compost heap Fiona. Love it.

Lol.....thanks Val! How did the candle making go...all set for the winters power cuts?!

14" x 10" A very quick, loose and scruffy pen & wash of a collection of self seeded opium poppies on the compost heap. I've been working around the compost heap today and every time I looked up they seemed larger than life, popping their heads above the wall.
