Thank you so much Cesare, Sarah, Gudrun, Marjorie...it's was a gorgeous morning, perfect for painting, Glennis and Maria for your lovely comments!

This looks an interesting castle Fiona, or ruins shall we say, clean and crisp drawing, not overworked as is your style, with some good colours.

I love your pen + wash paintings Fiona.

Beautiful building love the walls against the autumn trees....

Lovely painting Fiona lovely colours and trees handled very well

A beauty Fiona , I especially love the warm coloured trees against the cool sky

Beautiful work Fiona.

A lovely piece of pen and wash work Fiona , and thank you for the very interesting historical notes on the castle.

Many thanks everyone for you super feedback, much appreciated as always.

just seen this, Fiona...Another lovely pen and wash.

Thanks very much Ruth!

Sounds like the weather we had in Northumberland, unfortunately I didn't get much opportunity to sketch and I forgot my camera, or thought I had, I found it on the last day. Duh! Great pen work as always and I like your trees framing the castle ruins.

Oh no Val, that's a pity about the camera. There's nothing for it, you will have to go back! Thanks Val.

16"x12" Pen & wash, Jackson's rough paper. u. marine, b. sienna, r. umber old Holland paints & Indian ink. Spent the morning at Castle Kennedy, which is renowned for it's splendid gardens. This is the original castle but it was destroyed by fire in 1716, the new castle was built in the mid 19th century. Beautiful weather with nice shadows, and the Autumnal colours touching the trees.
