Lovely freedom in this painting. It is a beach I would love to walk on. Fiona instead of scanning your paintings ,why not photograph them ?

Really atmospheric painting Fiona - great tonal values.

Beautiful, atmospheric scenery, Fiona. I agree with Sylvia: why not photograph your work? I always do because they usualy are larger than an A4, mostly 30x40cm.

Many thanks folks. Sylvia, Mia I do sometimes photograph my pictures but generally they look dull when I post them. Using the scanner on quarter imperial size paper does cut away both sides of the painting though. I'll have to have a fiddle about with the camera, see if I can improve the light in any way. Thanks for your comments.

A gorgeous piece, Fiona! Love the light and the way you captured the stormy sky and surf.

Thank you very much Seok.

Nice work Fiona, full of life.

Great movement in the water with those big waves splashing up onto the rocks. A really simple composition but it says it all very eloquently.

Many thanks Stephen, Thea. Your comments are greatly appreciated.

Very nice, Like the misty fret blowing up from the waves.

Thanks Carole, appreciate your comment.

I love empty windswept beaches in winter and this painting conveys one perfectly.

Wonderful, Fiona - simplicity and great colours and you've created a really strong atmosphere with this one.

Thank you both very much for your kind remarks.

Beautiful painting Fiona

Thanks very much Glennis.

The heavy cloud chasing away whats left of the light! Bockingford rough, quarter imperial (as usual, can't fit it all on the scanner) and old Holland watercolours; Manganese blue, U. marine, L. red, B. umber and a little R. sienna.
