Loving the contrast in colours. Feels really relaxed

A lovely, loose abstract landscape. You always have great line work, what did you use for your thin black lines?

I've just been through a struggle myself happens every 6 months or so and I just attempt to push through .... I really like this Fiona it's very effective and when I saw it I thought of Alan's work , excellent stuff

Lots of lovely colour Fiona. A good mix of your line work and Alan's palette.

what painters block ?Fiona lovely combination of graphic and fluid marks... your back! David Harrison

Keep going Fiona this looks great and I love the colours!

Kow that block feeling well. It seems ( in my case,) to be brought on by being busy doing other things and not having opportunity to pick up a brush. Love the rigger work.

I like the result It's good to experiment without any pressure I particularly like the lower area of the painting and the lively rigger work Diana

Yes, I have to concur that the rigger work is superb, and the whole piece really gels, lively and sparkling, (unlike me this morning), good work F.

As can be seen from my recent work I have been going through the same Fiona, but I think your painting has real vigour to it, love the colours and l agree with other comments great line work. You can still see its your style Fiona, nice one.

Fiona, this is different, but still very much 'you' with that lovely expressive rigger work. Love the clean fresh colours you've used.

Different style for you, but different is good. Thank you for your messages much appreciated. Happy painting.

Nice bits of swishing about Fiona, I think you're somewhare near the mojo moment.

Brilliant, you have 'gone for it' this time Fiona! ;)

Many thanks everyone for your supporting and encouraging comments......I know we all go through a lean period I suppose but doing something different and not quite in line with your usual style, gives you a certain amount of freedom. The black swishy lines are all down to my new rigger...it's fabulous, from Rosemary and Co, size 4 her 'Evergreen' series. It's so long if you hold it by the end of the handle you have no control over it what's so ever...lol I love it. Thanks again X

Lovely work, Fiona...reminds me a bit of Alan's acrylic landscapes..super colours.

Thank you very much Chandra and Helen for your comments....much appreciated.

A combination of styles, Alan's squigely skies and palette and your lively brush marks and rigger work, how can it not be a great painting :)

Thank you girls!

19"x 15" Oil on gessoed cardboard. I'm struggling to get the enthusiasm to paint at the moment but I've been inspired by Alan B's mixed media work and his example of keeping things simple and loose. This is a looser approach to the oil sketch I did of Rig Bay last week I haven't used mixed media but oils as very turpsy washes and a little heavier application over the top. Basically I just slapped it on and had a little swish about with the rigger....enjoyed it. So at least I feel as though I have done something!
