what a splendid view you have to enjoy your cup of tea with :-) really lovely loose painting :-) i like it :-) Looks a lovely blue too :-)

What a view, are you trying to make us jealous?! Good bold brushwork here which works very well especially the slightly dry brush work in the centre which reflects the light from the sky.

That blue is just lovely, Fiona and another lovely scene - perhaps next time there'll be some sheep in view?

Try it, with a touch of cadmium red, for the sky - just enough red to tone it down. I envy your cup of tea view.....

I envy your view too Fiona, like the new blue, lovely painting

oh , oh ,oh.....what a view. lovely , lovely recession and painting Do you do B & B ?

Lovely Fiona and what a view. I wish I could paint in a looser style, have tried but it just doesn't happen !!

Talk about ' a room with a view '!!! lovely painting Fiona

Fantastic view Fiona, good to try out new colours, this works!

Many, many thanks everyone for your lovely comments! If you pan to the right there are a handful of croft houses that make up the township and the single track road that connects us to civilisation. Sorry Sylvia, no B&B. Denise, I wish I could do detail, haven't got the patience or the talent. Thanks again!

Nice one Fiona, love the depth and atmosphere.

I would like to use the Patholo Turquoise. too. I envy you this is from your bed room. What I can see from our bed room is just neighbor's wall. Thank you for shaing your fantastic works.

Beautiful Fioma, what a wonderful view to wake up to!

Thank you very much Peter, Midori, Christine, your comments are always welcome.

All been said - beautiful view and your painting is not bad either!

Mines an earl grey Fiona :) Just warning you in advance as with a view like that I'll be knocking at your door on our next visit to your neck of the woods. A lovely painting in your own unmistakable style and that blue, well, I'm just going to have to buy some.

Thanks Gudrun.Lol! I have plenty of Earl Grey Val....look forward to seeing you on your next trip North!! Thanks for taking a look.

Lucky you! It does look like a lovely view, and you've captured it in your inimitable style. Love the merging of the turquoise and blue - a lovely combination against the warmth of the middle ground.

Thank you Seok, always appreciate you thoughts and comments. I did wonder about using the warmer tones in the middle distance, because I think the Turquoise tends to lean towards the cooler side, has it put the picture off balance do you think?

I really wanted to try out a new blue, Pthalo Turquoise. It's delicious! I mixed the greens with it in this picture, mostly with raw sienna, and for the very dark green the addition of burnt sienna. The view is my morning cup of tea in bed view.......minus a few telegraph poles and sheep!! Jackson's rough 12"x16" Old Holland watercolours.
