Very effective with the different colours. Like it.

That's a fabulous painting, Fiona. The colours are beautifully chosen. It's uniquely yours.

Blimey that was quick Tony! A bit too colourful perhaps? Thanks very much Tony for you very quick comment. Forgot to mention, it’s done on sugar paper.

Thank you Lewis, very kind.

It is a very beautiful and vibrant mixed media painting, love it Fiona.Like the tree and fence in foreground, and the barn's doors and windows. and just enough colours here and there.

I like it. It's a striking use of colour.

You've injected great character into this old thing. Love the palette and the leaning neighbour!

I love the mixed media, its given a great effect to the painting, the colours work well together and I love the wire fence, a great job well done.

Lovely use of sposmadic vibrant colours Fiona. A really lovely painting.

Thanks very much Annick, Dawn, Willie..lol yes it has got s bit of a lean, I should do the sketching in pencil first shouldn’t I really.....Linda for your generous comments.

Great colour and super use of black Fiona, vivid piece.

Now that is an extreme mixed media painting Fiona, not many left out! But glad to say that it works well. The bright colours one the wall give the subject a lift.

I like your messy ones!

Love your liveliness and experimentation Fiona .

Andre, John, Stephen ...lol....Linda, so do I, and Sylvia for your lovely comments, very much appreciated.

Love the way you have coloured the barn and its surroundings. You do some marvellous things with those inks and other media, and what on earth is Milton? (Only Milton I've ever come across is the rather boring poet).

I really like it all, Fiona, from the broken door panels to the super wire fence. The colours add another dimension in their variety and application. Excellent character. Lovely! Brian

Like all those different effects, and colours. Fiona, especially how you have mastered that barb wire fence.

1001 uses for Miltons eh? I love all those colours Fiona.

Very artistic Fiona, just as a creation should be. Blimey, sugar paper; haven't heard of that since primary school. (-:

like it Fiona and the colours suit - handy having a subject like that so close - something different every time you see it

Love it Fiona and well done with your boots

The textures in this really are wild and expressive. Very impressive Fiona.

Great style, really love this series of old buildings they are fabulous Fiona.

Great character Fiona .

Well, what a lively piece! - Not reed pen I don't think, but a rather splendid drawing and a range of bold colours. Good work Fiona.

If this is a mess it’s a very attractive mess! I think it’s great Fiona and I like the idea of painting the same subject from different angles and with a variety of mediums.

Well you certainly went to town with the different media on this one Fiona and what an impressive result too. I do like the addition of the various colours.

Thank you Sandra, Milton is bleach which I water down, or use neat. It makes the Quink ink separate and split into different shades. Thanks Brian, glad you like it! Many thanks Lesley. It’s the only use I have for Milton Marjorie, thank you. Thanks Jim, it’s very useful as a support the sugar paper. It’s quite thick, almost like a pliable card, you can wet it and stretch it like watercolour paper, or just paint straight on to it. I use it for oils sometimes as well, although the paint dries dull.

Thank you very much Mike, yes lots of these old buildings close enough to have plenty subjects. Thank Dennis! The boots were a lovely surprise. Diana thank you very much. Thank you Carole, I like the scruffy mess I can make with this kind of subject...lol. Thanks Tessa. Thanks Alan! Yes I did use the reed pen in one or two areas. Many thanks Barry. Yes I agree, I like to exhaust every avenue of a subject, until I either think I can’t get anymore from it, or I get bored. I did Carol, I don’t know what came over me! Thank you for your lovely comment. I’ll be in touch over the weekend. X

Fabulous colours, Fiona. A lovely paintings.

I like the composition and the bright colours in this Fiona - and leaving the building on the left uncoloured I think adds interest.

Thank you ladies, very kind.

Oooh this is good Fiona, I like the added colour, it's brought out the building's character.

Great mix of colours in this one Fiona. Love it.

Many thanks Margaret and Dorothy for your kind comments.

A mixed media mess about...black and blue Quink ink, Milton, oil pastel, a touch of white gouache and Indian ink. It’s that dreaded barn but from the opposite end, this view shows the rest of the attached building at the far end which is just suggested.
