Love your sense of humour Fiona, a brilliant take on this iconic painting! Vermeer and Picasso combined with a touch of Phipps!

This is brilliant- what a laugh! Vermeer will be turning in his grave! I absolutely love it!

I'm laughing again as I look at it!

Brilliant! Instantly recognisable as both Vermeer and Picasso - very clever and inventive, love it!

Beautifully humorous Fiona

I really love this Fiona -made me laugh out loud!!

strikingly different, hoorah

Absolutely brilliant Fiona!

Great fun and also very nicely painted Fiona , I love everything you do because your niceness comes through in your paintings , well done .

When I first saw this I was not expecting to see the name Fiona underneath it, I was in some shock! followed by hysteria... But I wish I had thought of it first, it really is superb in all respects, drawing, colour and a definite Picasso (ish)style, well done for your creativity on this one.

Hee hee.......what a bit of fun, glad you see it that way folks and not as a slur on Vermeer, Picasso or the many that have painted this iconic portrait since.
The inspiration came form whoever mentioned the 'pear earing' either in a comment on some ones painting or the forum I can't remember. There is no chance that I could even get near painting the real thing so opted for a Picasso style portrait.....easy I thought! Ha...not so!
It made me laugh!
Thank you very much, didn't really need the comments, just wanted to give you all a giggle!
Thanks again.X

Very creative Fiona - love it!

Ahhh, my sense of humour and so well done - you should have a go at cartoons - with Ivan there are now two of us in the POL Cartoon Club

Ha ,Ha , I love this and what a great way to let loose and try something different , excellent

Like this Fiona, great take on the famous lady!

Fiona, this is BRILLIANT! I absolutely love it! It's just such a quirky and fun piece, but it doesn't detract at all from the fact that it's an excellent piece. Your use of warms and cools for the contours of the portrait is spot one.

Great fun Fiona, agree with all that's been said. Its also very clever, very impressed.

I have had to turn her face to the wall, she keeps watching me.........very un-nerving! Thanks all for your super comments, I just did it for a bit of fun. Thanks again.

Bit late coming to this, it's all been said again but thanks for the giggle, cheered up my day no end.

Cheers Val! Glad it cheered you up.

Best I've seen so far of this

Please don't groan when you read the title!lol A different slant on this, the most publicised portrait here on POL. I picked up on a comment made on the forum (I think) about the 'pear' earing. So here's my version in a Picasso style...what else can you do on a wet afternoon in July, and I've finished the ironing.....I'm not a tennis buff either. Lol.
