Surely you have captured the atmosphere Fiona and that sunny spot shows there beautifully! Well done for catching it in time!

I think that this is very atmospheric Fiona! What a lovely view you have!

Wow. To me this is has really captured the atmosphere captured perfectly, and a tantalising blend of the abstract with the figurative

Ooo Fiona you have really caught the mood of the sky, love it.

Gosh Fiona -you have certainly captured the atmosphere -and what a view from your sitting room window. Really like this one.

Wow! Thanks Bill, really appreciate your comment. Thank you also Karyl....I've had a wow and an Oooo in the last two comments....lol! I still didn't capture quite what the storm looked like in the flesh.

You captured the atmosphere of a storm very well, Fiona. Wonderful picture, well done!

Seriously good Fiona!

Thank you very much Louise!

Seeing as I am late to the party - I agree, it's very good indeed.

Late to the party or not Gudrun, it's always lovely to hear your thoughts. Thank you.

Hi Fiona. I have been away from PoL as you know and hence I missed several of your postings. This one is particularly attention-grabbing! I like it very much and, with the others above, find it extremely atmospheric and dramatic. Next, I must thank you most sincerely for taking the time and trouble to send me your recent note. It was lovely to receive it. Health has not been too good of late but I cannot blame it for my entire absence. I know it sounds daft but there are two main reasons I have been away. The first is that there is so much excellent stuff being posted I simply cannot keep up with making comments let alone making postings, and nor can I compete. This last is the second reason. Whenever I pick up a brush, my first thoughts are not about the subject, or even if I have one, but, rather, how will it be received by PoL ! I seem to be getting paranoid about whether I should continue or not. I'm sure I will when I get a lot of other stuff out of my life. In the meantime, I am giving paintings away as fast as I can. What else can you do with them? Any way, enough of all this. Keep yours coming - I enjoy them so much! Kindest regards, Lionel.

I was trying to capture atmosphere in this one, it's the view from my sitting room window. One evening last week the storm clouds came rolling over the hill, with low cloud and dark skies but in the middle ground there was a patch of bright sunshine, and yet no sun in the sky. Put it down on paper before it passed! Okra paper Old Holland watercolours; U.marine, B.umber, Lem. yellow, and a touch of L. red.
