Tartan legged, Wooly Haggis by Fiona Phipps

Brilliant Fiona , love it , I see it’s not a hill haggis as it doesn’t have the short legs on one side .

This is a distant cousin Paul. if I remember correctly, your species isn’t the sabre toothed. 😉

"Whit's fur ye'll no go past ye" (what's meant to be will be) Great sketch

I'm struggling to write this as I'm laughing so much at this wonderful specimen. It's brilliant. Happy Burns day/night.

Oh so a haggis is something you hut in Scotland. They look cute though Fiona.

I don't know what to say, brilliant !!

Ah well, have you heard of the Boaty MacBoaty clan? This chap is of the Haggie MacHaggie clan. The clan took heavy losses in 1765 at the battle of ClootieHill near Auchtermuchty but they have rallied in numbers over the last couple of centuries…..thank goodness. I’m an honorary member of the Sonsie Fizog society, a very select group who raise funds for its survival.

Ouch aye Martin….too true. Carol, don’t encourage me! 😂 thank you. Cute?! John, you wouldn’t say that if you had one chasing you in the braes. 👍 Thank you Valerie.

That made me smile, Fiona!! I just love it!!

I'm speechless Fiona! :)

My son is working on site in Scotland and we have been just discussing the haggis beast and Burns night. He does like haggis. I will have to send him your picture, he will love it.

Wouldn't want to meet this character while out walking, Fiona.

We’re so lucky to have such a renowned wildlife artist and expert right here on POL. I think I saw you on one of David Attenborough’s shows wearing a tammy shanter. Great drawing.

I've had a good laugh at this and all of the comments! Happy Burns night Fiona!

Brilliant Fiona!!

They taste pretty good if you can catch them Fiona!

So funny and so good!

Love this wee beastie. Actually reminds me of my daughter’s cat!

What a wonderful capture Fiona. Superb drawing.

Brilliant Fiona - really funny - love it!

Thank you very much for your funny and imaginative comments, I’ve really enjoyed reading them.

So that’s what they look like in the wild.

What a wonderful specimen Fiona, he would make a lovable pet 😍

Ha ha Fiona, brilliant especially the tartan leg warmers.

Do you export them? They'd be a real novelty here!

Thank you ladies. From the response of this posting I may look into a re-homing scheme……with postage overseas Sandra! Adopt a Haggis!

Thanks Manus!

A scratchy sketch of this rare and unusual 5 legged species of Haggis. It’s unique 5th leg evolved to give it speed in its slopped and rocky habitat. Not only hunted for its delicious meat, at its most tasty on the 25th of January, the course wool makes high quality tatting yarn for the Tammy Shanter. An added bonus is ready made tartan long socks.
