Leave well alone Fiona. It works beautifully. Lovely , lovely palette.

Thank you very much Sylvia!

Quite utterly beautiful Fiona

Lovely artwork yet again Fiona
So lovely, great sky, no cropping I'd say!

This is smashing Fiona, and I would agree with everyone else, it's perfect just the way it is.

Lovely harmony of tones here Fiona! Change nowt!

Lovely pen & wash Fiona. Especially like the colours.

I do admire pen and wash, especially when done so simply and beautifully as this piece, Fiona.

Dennis, Glennis, Carole, Frank, Sarah, Dympna and John, thank you all so much for your continued encouragement and reassurance....I'm still not too sure about the river bank.

I love your pen and inks. Is it the bit on the left of the land slip? It may be the blue. A bit of a light sienna/umber wash??? Perhaps just a light sienna. Leave this one and do another if you can.

Thanks for your feedback Gudrun, I think you're right about the blue, I have taken it too far down the bank should have just done a wet muddy patch at the top. Instead it looks as though there is water running down, and it isn't. I won't alter this one, might do as you suggest and try it again. Thanks again!

Well, it may be ages but you haven't lost that beautiful touch of yours! No, don't crop it - it's lovely as it is. I like the sky and I can just imagine you putting on that foliage with the flat of the brush. (Hope I'm right!).

Thank you Lionel, I was almost afraid to do this, it's so long since I did anything in watercolour...apart from the splashy ones, I don't count those. Yes you are right, I applied the tree foliage with the side of the brush. How did Spain go, hope it was a success Lionel. Can we look forward to seeing something from you soon? Take care and my best to Mary.X

Morning Fiona. Forgot to say that the picture's title makes me think it should be a traditional Scottish folk song! Anyway, the Spain sale seems to still be on track. Mary and I will be going out there in a couple of weeks - once we are confident that the Spanish solicitor has requested absolutely all the documentation that is required to complete the sale. Another painting is on the easel as we speak and hopefully I can post it before we depart for Spain. Regards to you and yours. x

Yes, either a song or a dance Lionel. Glad to hear all is on track, I have my fingers crossed for you. Look forward to seeing your posting, after your last one I'm wondering whether it will be traditional or abstract? X

It seems ages since I did a watercolour, and I had the chance to do a quick pen & wash of this part of the Bladnoch river bank. It was the regimental row of old windblown Hawthorn trees that caught my eye, unfortunatley I haven't made a very good job of depicting the scooped out part of the bank. I did think of cropping it before posting, but then I wouldn't get any advice as how to put it right......24"x16" U. marine, R. sienna and B. umber
