Fantastic Fiona and well done!

Super painting Fiona.

Shiver me timbers Fiona another good one created.

You should get frozen more often Fiona, I’m liking this one a lot…your best for a while…

Your determination has paid off very well Fiona

Very atmospheric, I love the tree and exposed branches, and can sense the cold. I'm in Buckinghamshire, and it's sub zero here today too. What a dedicated artist you are, to be creative in literally freezing temperatures! And a lovely achievement from it too!

Well done Fiona, David Bellamy used vodka or gin to paint with watercolour in the Arctic, maybe you should follow suit, but please don’t drink it!

Very brave painting outdoors in this weather, Fiona, but a lovely result!

I take my hat off to you for painting that one en plein aire! And a lovely picture to boot, well done

Loose and immediate - like it, Fiona

It sure is. Another top piece of work.

The cold certainly did not stop you from producing this fine piece Fiona.

Super painting Fiona, You are a hero painting in that snow.

This is just great Fiona!

Goodness me Fiona- that’s dedication to painting! Well done.

A great painting done in tough conditions Fiona.

Terrific comments, thank you so much for taking the time, always appreciated. I had contemplated another excursion today, it has been warmer, only minus 3.4 degrees! Decided to stay indoors to sketch today.

A super painting, Fiona - well done indeed!

Love this style Fiona.

Lovely winterscape Fiona

You are a hardy soul Fiona and this is a lovely painting.

Thank you very much Anne, Shaun, Martin, Diane for your generous comments.

Well Fiona you are a brave lady and what a lovely result. I walked this morning past foggy and frozen lakes, took some photos which might make a painting but from indoors!

Tessa, the bravery has worn off for the last two days. I’ve been sketching indoors myself since my moment of madness. I almost went out this afternoon but it had started to snow! Thank goodness, so stayed in the warm. Thank you. Look forward to seeing the result of your photography.

The freezing temperature so well conveyed, you are one brave lady painting in such cold!

Daft rather than brave Sandra 🥶 thank you for commenting.

You must be applauded for you commitment in freezing conditions as this has turned out wonderfully well, now you can sit by the fire with a drop of the good stuff and feel proud of what you have achieved!🍺

I really admire you for painting outdoors in the cold weather- I couldn't do it. You've created a lovely sketch with your icecolours Fiona.

Thank you so much William and Hilary for your lovely comments. Despite it being very cold, I did enjoy it!

S&B sketchbook, should be watercolour but on this occasion it was icecolour . From Shoulderigg road towards Coalburn. I think this is the coldest temperature I’ve ever painted outdoors, wanted to catch the last of the snow yesterday, before it warms up at the weekend….hopefully. The paint I mixed in the palette started to freeze and also on the paper, hence the mottled look. I managed two sketches before I thought……this is stupid Fiona. I checked the temperature when I got home…..minus 3.2 degrees.
