Niice one Fiona

Lovely, Fiona, it is a hard challenge!

Thanks very much David! It was difficult Cesare, I don't do portraits so don't really know where to begin. Nothing like your beautiful paintings. Thank you.

Yours is very good. You have her face shape and everything. I never thought to do a pencil sketch first. This has worked out really well. The colours are lovely. I also note you must have done this before. I never thought to demonstrate tally of strokes. I did stick to 60, which probably explains the mess!

Lol....Gudrun, I really enjoyed doing this! And I hate doing portraits, perhaps because it's not identifiable.....takes the pressure off. No I haven't done a tally of strokes before but thought if I didn't I would get lost in the doing of it and lose count. Did a quick outline sketch beforehand; shape of hat, face, shoulders and jacket etc. Also roughly where the eyes fit....or not in this case! I thought 60 strokes sounded more than enough but it isn't, you need at least double that I would think to have something recognisable. Great fun!

A good job Fiona. Why not try more? I think you'll be great.

It's a one up on Van Gogh after a couple of stiff ones. The hat fits perfectly by the way.

Thank you for your encouragement Michael, attempting portraits frightens me...lol Lol...thanks John! It's been nagging at me who it reminds me of, and last night whilst walking past it in the dim light, it clicked. The scary chap from Nightmare on Elm Street! Is it Freddie Kruger?! I needed a one stiff one after that.

Mis-spelling......just checked, it is Freddy Krueger.

It has got character Fiona, well done!

Lol...thank you Satu!

I over stepped by 3 strokes Gudrun, nearly ran out before I did the eyes! Not sure what gender, or whether it's actually human! Lol Great challenge, and difficult with limited brush strokes.
