Love your experimenting ideas Fiona. This is very good.

Very good and well done you for all your hard work in this area

Love this picture Fiona, I like the touch of colour in with the charcoal as well. Well done

It’s beautifully done Fiona , love the simplicity of the palette the yellow /ochre adds so much . You are really good at painting these scenes , it highlights your skills as it’s not easy to achieve such a good result with such few lines and colours.

This is lovely, Fiona - I particularly love the reflected light on the burn!

Beautiful and atmospheric Fiona; I really like mark-making in the foreground.

You do these wetlands so well.

The smooth and then energetic marks make the picture work well Fiona.

Very well done Fiona.

Wonderful Fiona.

Terrific piece Fiona, the yellow sky reflected in the water is beautifully done.

Very atmospheric Fiona.

Sparing and unfussy. So suits this landscape. Like it and well done for your input into the area

Love the use of a single accent colour Fiona.

Sandra, Denise, Russell, John, Martin, Guy, George, Valerie…..thank you all for your comments and encouragement.

This is really excellent Fiona. The yellow areas work really well with the charcoal.

A lovely strength to this, Fiona. The foreground wispy grasses and glimpse of yellow water reflection works so well.

I remember this watery light over the estuary and Bishop Burn nearby, Fiona. You've capured it so well here. I didn't get to the bog, too much else to enjoy! Thanks for the image.

David, Anne, Willie, thank you for your much appreciated comments. Willie, I’m so glad you recognise where it is! Hope you get to the bog next time you are in the area, if you are about when the Ospreys are nesting there is a well place hide.

Just catching up Fiona - this is gorgeous. Love the way the watercolour works with the charcoal and I love the composition and format.

Love the format Fiona, the touch of yellow brings it alive.

Thank you very much ladies! I must admit, I am enjoying using this charcoal.

Love this style Fiona - the addition of the yellow adds another dimension.

Cheryl, Shaun, many thanks for your feedback……always welcome.

Thanks very much Thalia!

14”x12” liquid charcoal, charcoal pencil and watercolour on Saunders. Carsegowan Moss is a raised peat bog in Galloway, this is Bishop burn which is close by with the Galloway hills in the distance. I’ve spent many hours recording and logging the peat bog levels and general wildlife in and around the bog site.
