hi beatiful landscape i just love your sheep i think i would be stunned also if i was a sheep excellent work form paula

Thank you Paula, you are very kind. Yes, it takes them a minute or two to realise what just happened and to get their bearings!

Lovely story you tell here and what a lovely sketch!

Thank you Louise.

Nice quick Sketch Fiona and great subject with all these sheep to sketch, I always find they never stay in the one place long enough to allow me to draw them !!! and like the storyline behind the drawing, well done

Great sketch, Fiona, and a great title!

Great contrast between the calm hills behind the frantic shearing going on in the foreground .Really good .I'm sure I wouldn't even attempt anything so complicated.the figures aint alf bad eitherXX

Great sketch Fiona, I can almost hear all the baaing and noise that goes on during these occasions. Thanks for your lovely comment on my latest Stac Polly painting, the next one from this years visit to your part of Scotland, an oil, is drying on the easel as I type. LOL

Thank you Graham, Seok Yam, Sue, Val. I'm surrounded by sheep and they are real characters. Sometimes I look out of the window and one is doing either something very silly or they are fast asleep, I grab my sketch book and try and capture them.

Pen & wash. I captured this quick sketch a couple of days ago when the shearers came to do all the local sheep. They are amazingly fast; it took under 60 seconds per sheep. In total I think they sheared 700 to 1,000 sheep between three of them in a day. All the fleeces where rolled and packed into bags by a few other helpers. The look on the faces of the sheep when they come out the other end is very amusing.........stunned!!!!
