View To Cumbrae Island

A very pleasing painting Fiona, I did suggest some distant yachts which would have drawn the eye into the painting and added interest… where are they?

It is lovely, great brushwork and colour palette

Excellent colours, nicely done.

This is very well done, Fiona. Great depth and nice colours.

A lovely scene Fiona; I really like the cloud formation, and the rocky foreground. Beautifully painted. I know that feeling of frustration when an opportunity arises and the paints are sitting at home!

A beautiful sunny view Fiona, love the colours and marks indicating the foreground rocks.

Nice. Love your colours.

Beautiful Fiona 😍

Super painting Fiona.

Lovely painting, Fiona, with confident brush strokes and harmonious colours.

Beautifully painted, Fiona with those soft blues - I remember visiting this lovely island many years ago.

A beauty Fiona. Love the clouds and high horizon. The foreground is brilliant.

I know you did Alan and thank you for the suggestion but it’s too hot to wield a paint brush! I could pop a few in when it cools down. Thank you very much to Heather, Stephen, Paul, Mia, Karen, Val, Sarah, Faye, George, Bill and Anne……appreciate your observations and comments. Anne, I doubt it’s changed very much. I didn’t go across on the ferry this time didn’t have the time but it’s only an hour away so will certainly go another time. You can hire electric bikes where you get off the ferry to tour the island now. Maybe trying to get people to leave their cars on the mainland.

Thank you Terry. The sky was easy for this, the canvas I used already had a raw sienna ground so I only painted the blue bits, the clouds and horizon are the underpainting. Just tried to simplify the beach, glad you think it works…….thank you.

Lovely work Fiona - some nice brushstrokes on that shoreline.

I love the distance you've achieved Fiona.

This is lovely Fiona. It has a lovely, impressionistic feel to it which I really like.

Love how you have painted the foreground Fiona, which seems to melt beautifully into the the sea and seems to reflect the sky. Lovely work.🌞🌞🌞

This is a really lovely painting Fiona. I love the colours you’ve used.

This is fabulous, Fiona. Lovely sparkle on the water and lovely space. I'm not convinced about the yachts. It's the emptiness and the simplicity which appeal to me. I see Alan's point but .......... (Are we looking across from Largs?)

What a lovely, harmonious piece of art. The clouds draw the eye down to the hills and the foreground is deftly done.

A beautiful painting Fiona, love the brushwork and colours and the feeling of openness that the picture portrays. I like it very much.

Lovely calming painting, Fiona, nice foreground

Fiona your paintings always make me want to be there....you just get that sense of place.

Wow, thank you so much Andrew, Coral, Ross, David, Carole, Spencer, Roger (yes it is, by the ferry terminal) Bill, Brian, Willie, Sylvia, I’m bowled over by your response to this…..I very nearly rubbed it off to start again! Thanks x

Superb Fiona! Quickies from memory are the best!

Love this Fiona. Great mark making in the foreground and lovely hazy horizon

Sandra, Thalia, Martin, Michael…….thank you for your encouraging comments, always very much appreciated.

Super piece Fiona. I love he foreground in particular and see I’m not alone!

This is really lovely Fiona -particularly love that sky. Could do with a dip in that sea to cool down!!!

Ladies, thank you! Glad you like it, hope I can keep it up!

Oooh another beauty Fiona, oh and I read it’s only a quickie!! Your so talented!
