A beautiful sketch Fiona of your wee friend and companion.

We call them Spadgers...I always love the energy you show in your work Fiona.

Oh,oh just read your story... we had a Harvey and my son has a Jacky Daw.....go on a whole Turkish delight...love our feathery friends.

What a sad yet up lifting story of your wonderful little feathered friend Fiona so Beautifully sketched.

What a lovely drawing of your spuggy, Fiona. I was wondering what would happen to her when you moved.

What a simply beautiful sketch, Fiona! A really delightful memory!!

Poor Spuggs! You’ve captured a little personality here Fiona, very sweet. She has her beady eye on you! We have a blackbird friend called Burt who has visited for three years or so now and comes with a wife and several babies every year. Gets through more than his fair share of mealy worms but we love him!

Beautiful drawing

Lovely drawing and a nice tale Fiona.

What a little beauty she was Fiona, and what a privilege to have a little friend like that! Lovely drawing too!

Thanks Paul! Lol…yes a good name for a Butler. I called her Spuggs because where I come from that’s the local name for them….Spuggies. Thank you for your comment. Thanks Sylvia, I think exactly the same about your work! Yes Spuggs has been by my side for 11years…..what a large hole she has left. Many thanks Chris. Marjorie thank you. I was a little worried about the move but she actually settled better than I did, I’m still not “at home” if that makes sense. Despite not being able to fly, she was well travelled…..from the Highlands to Galloway and then back north to the central belt! Spencer, David many thanks to you both, much appreciated. Thanks Tessa! She always wanted a bit of anything I was eating, and so diverse in her tastes. Anne, Andrew…..thank you both very much.

Thank you Sarah. It’s taken me so long really to have a go at drawing her, as I’m not very good at it! I am quite pleased with the result, considering I’m rubbish…lol

What a lovely tribute to Wee Spuggs.

Beautiful drawing and a lovely background story too

Well done Fiona- such a lovely drawing of your best friend.

Many thanks Valerie, Carolyn and Carol for your very kind comments.

Beautiful sketch Fiona. So sorry she has gone.

A heartwarming story and lovely sketch Fiona. It’s a great thing to share our lives with other beings

Beautiful sketch, Fiona - such a sweet character, really sorry she’s gone. She lived to an amazing age, though!

How beautiful both in the story and the drawing Fiona

Denise, Martin, Jenny, Heather……I’m very grateful for your kind words and comments, thank you.

A lovely story and a beautiful sketch of your sweet little bird. ( In the North East they are "spuggies" too.)

A beautiful drawing Fiona and a lovely reminder of your companion.

Anne, Karen…..many thanks to you both for your generous comments.

A really excellent study, with superb linework, gestural marks and accents in all the right places. I'm sorry she's gone, Fiona, but a very worthy tribute to her.

Just seen this Fiona - so touching- and a beautiful drawing. They leave such a gap don’t they……..

Thank you so much Seok and Rachel for you kind words and generous comments. It was a privilege to share those eleven years with her, I’ll miss her for a long time.

Oh that’s beautiful Fiona! Sounds like she had a great life, though I know that’s no consolation to you.x

Thank you Emma. I’m especially pleased that you approve of my scruffy sketch, I take it as a great compliment as your work is exceptional.

Beautiful sketch of your Suggs.

Pencil sketch of my constant companion who flew to the next plain in October…..and I miss her very much, still. It’s from a photo of her sat in my hand but I’ve added the twigs instead. She has made a few appearances on the gallery over the years with stories of her adventures. We would share a Turkish Delight (among other things) on a Friday night, I’m not sure I’m ever going to be able to eat a whole one!
