Alien

Definitely an alien, I can see a wide open mouth and eyes. Hair like mine 😂 An interesting set of shapes marks and colours Fiona.

This is really eye catching Fiona, beautifully done.

Spectacular!!!!!!!!!!

Hmm… this is something else, but you’ve certainly expressed yourself here! If it was six feet high and in a London gallery I don’t doubt that it would sell…

Oh lovely! That orange against the black and blue!!

I painted this in landscape but when I cropped it I rotated it as well, this monster jumped out! Thanks for your great comments Carole ( I’ve only been out the door once today, came back in with a similar hair do) Denise, David, Alan…..that would be nice wouldn’t it…..and Carrie.

It looks great Fiona , I like the idea of trying it out , I have a lot of old photography paper and wax going to throw it out last week . The colours and the shape are excellent, can I pinch your idea please.

Wow I love that! Fab work. Lovely colours Fiona. 😍 I got some ink I must give it ago 😏

Lol. Michael, are you still on medication? I can see the bird and the glass but no rat, I’ll be taking another look later….after I’ve self-medicated! Hope you are feeling much better x thank you. Paul yes of course, it’s fun! Get a good lot of water on a watercolour brush so you can flick and splodged the water on the paper randomly, you don’t need to cover it all if you want white spaces. If you have a fairly strong mix of a watercolour ready, load the brush and flick roughly where the water is, it should be still wet or damp. Then dip a fairy dry brush into the ink and randomly splatter that in places, tip the paper from side to side as much or as little as it takes to mix some of the colour and ink together in places. Before it dries, drag a tatty feather, or anything else that is fine and won’t move the paint and ink around too much. Do this bit with a light touch until you get the desired effect…..I think under working this part is more effective than over working. The blue bits are wax crayon but you could use oil pastels.

I like this a lot!!

Interesting that you used photo paper. Sounds like fun. And yet another fine result.

This is just fab Fiona. I always admire you for using different techniques and styles of painting. I must look out for some feathers but it's too windy now. They'll have blown away! Good title as well!

Lovely colour combination Fiona, excellent work

Faye, Rachel, Lewis, Louise…..thanks very much, glad you like it. Louise you would be hard pressed to find a bird with any feathers left after the blow we are having at the moment, never mind any scattered about.

Love your experimentation and there is plenty to interest the eye here!

Brilliant, Fiona, really gets your imagination going! Can see some quite scary things, like an animal with a bushy tail bottom right which has been speared with something. Love the choice of colour and the Yupo effect of the paper. So much on such a small scale!

So much going on here Fiona would hate to hazard a guess but it reminds me of a series of recurring dreams or maybe nightmares. You certainly get us all thinking.

This caught my attention immediately, Fiona. I love the colours and the freedom.

Interesting your use of small photo paper Fiona, wouldn’t have thought of that, and it’s very effective. Looks like you had fun!

Diane, Dympna, Jenny, Carole, Ellen, Tessa……thank you very much for your thoughts and comments.

Postcard size photography paper, watercolour, Indian ink and crayon. A free pack of photography paper came with the last ink cartridge bundle. I’ve used photography paper with watercolours before, it behaves a little like Yupo paper. Been playing with my feather brushes again.
