Yes, I do like this ! The dark foreground and details take us nicely into this lovely scene.

I agree with Avril. very good tonal balance. Really like your painting style Fiona.

nice one Fiona ,I agree lovely ..nice mountains making the far away distance

This has a totally different atmosphere to the other two, wilder and more aggressive both in the tonal contrast and brush work plus the addition of the prickly bramble. It's good, but to honest I prefer the calmness of first one.

Beautiful colours and a gorgeous sky Fiona! All three paintings are lovely but number one is my favorite too.

Great foreground, good contrasts, good sky too Fiona.

Thanks everyone, very grateful for your continued support and encouragement.

I do like this one; it is bold and strong. It looks like there is a storm at sea. The first one is more serene.

Thank you Gudrun!

Nice sky Fiona. Best of the three. Good foreground tone.I wonder of you mixed the dark of the bramble on the palette. ? mixing the warm (Burnt Sienna) and the cool (ultramarine) on the paper might give a bit more vitality.

Love it , just wish I was there.

Another good interpretation Fiona, interesting the different reactions to it. Personally I prefer the more gentle, first version but they all work well.

Many thanks Alan, Karyl and Stephen for your kind remarks.

Thanks very much Michelle

Gorgeous light in the sky, Fiona. What I liked most in the first painting was the feeling it gave out, that you'd done it in a carefree way, with just a few relaxed brushstrokes (yes, I realise 'relaxed' , 'carefree' and 'watercolour' don't always go together). With this one I don't get that same easy feeling. I like how you've indicated the choppiness of the sea, and the dark of the spiky coastal plant on the left makes a great contrast.

Thank you Caroline. It's really odd that I painted all three from the same photo, yet each one has a different feel to it........must have been what mood I was in at the time of painting.lol

I get the feeling of a windier day from this one Fiona, that sea has a lot more movement in it compared to the calmer waters of the first two. I like the sandy foreground and your very spiky looking bramble bush :)

Thanks very much Val!

Lovely work Fiona. Love the panoramic sweep of the painting.

Many thanks Seok.

Last in the series of the beach scene. With this one I have added more of the foreground, and left more white paper for surf. The shrub bottom left is a bramble not a tree. Arches paper, old Holland watercolours. Thanks for looking.
