Spring in the Hedgerow

Comments

Has that fresh 'on the spot' feel tit Fiona, well done.

Erm that should read "to it" of course!

Oopps....I thought that’s what you meant Stephen! 😂 thanks very much.

Subtle and springlike, love those little dashes of colour Fiona!

Super, Fiona - love the wild flowers emerging from the tangled undergrowth and the splashes of colours!

Agree, yes this is lovely!

Yes, a delightful but simple composition which has been superbly represented in these two medium.

That is a lovely painting!

Many thanks Tessa, AC, Anne, Sarah, Alan, David for your positive comments. I wasn’t too sure about the variation in the tones in the hedgerow, they don’t stand out enough against the field at the back, perhaps?

This feels so springlike with the gentle burst of wildflowers.

Beautiful colours Fiona, bottom of your garden is most desirable..

Lovely lovely painting Fiona.

Blue, yellow, orange and great flowers in the tangled grasses.

My goodness......thank you everyone! I’m very grateful for your continued interest in the stuff I post, really appreciate your support. Lesley, there is a rylock fence between me and it but it’s only a few feet away. I’m very fortunate.

This landscape looks as if is about to burst into life Fiona. Love the wild energy here.

Thank you very much Carole.

Love the signs of spring peeking out of last year's foliage, lovely almost abstract interpretation

Love the impression of the wind blowing through the picture.

Lovely use of paint and applied with subtle brushwork.

Late to the party but I love the fresh colours and varied textures too.

This is really lovely Fiona and those splashes of lemon yellow really lift it to a special painting. I can't keep up with all your entries on the gallery these days but I am looking in regularly.

Anjana, C G D Taylor, Shaun, Carol, Roger, Gudrun.....many thank you you all for your generous comments. Michael, I usually look through the gallery etc whilst having a coffee, needless to say I had to clean the carpet and make myself a fresh cup, after reading Stephen’s comment. A classic predictive text! 😂

16”x14” mixed media on paper.....acrylic, oil and soft pastel, chinagraph. My go to subject in between anything else I might have on the go, at the bottom of the garden. It’s starting to colour up, there is the whin at the moment, but also the dead, dried and very faded last years grasses which are turning a pale lilac colour. The first of the red campion....no bluebells though, also the fresh greens in the mix as well.
