Salmon Net Stakes on the Cree Estuary

Beautiful, Fiona - that's quite a magical effect on the water!

Beautiful Fiona, that is sky oozing salmon.

A really good painting Fiona you are so good a doing these scenes .

This is gorgeous - I love the colours.

I love the water here, Fiona. It reflects the light.

Really rather splendid Fiona, simplicity of composition with subtle hues!

Lovely and fresh atmosphere, and the reddish glow from the sky looks effective!

This is fabulous, Fiona for all the reasons people have already written.

I like this very much Fiona.

Very nice indeed

Love the subtle colours, Fiona - and the foreground detail.

Beautiful palette Fiona with lovely dark drawing.

Thank you all for your very kind comments.

Beautiful Fiona - love those colours.

Thank you very much Gudrun and Margaret.

There's something of an oriental feel to the top half of the painting which I like very much and the salmon colour in the sky reflects the subject matter.

Agree with all the comments here Fiona. I particularly love that sky and the way you painted the sun.

Thank you very much ladies....appreciated.

Thanks very much Michael.

Lovely palette Fiona. Particularly like the sky.

Thank you very much Carol x

Hang on Studio Wall

17”x11” pastel and charcoal on Strathmore paper. The Cree once supported a productive salmon netting community but I think it’s licensed to smaller catches these days. There is still a fine smokehouse at Carsluith which does a wonderful line in smoked salmon, as well as other very tasty smoked produce.
