Once again, I haven't yet seen Alan's version, but I still like this as a stand-alone work. The foreground grasses are just beautiful and I love the sky as it is. I think I know what you mean about the buildings. I think the two right hand, small grey roofed buildings should have their roofs' sloping slightly down towards the right - not by much though. Well done, Fiona.

Well done, Fiona, for having a go at this, and I think it's pretty successful. The people seem to me to be the right size in this one and the buildings are very good indeed for someone who professes not to be any good at them - you do yourself a disservice... I printed out Alan's sketch and so far it's sitting there challenging me. Perhaps tomorrow!

thanks Fiona well done I love it, and I get a kick that the sketch was of use , I will try and add ,more

Once again Lionel you are more than generous about my painting, thank you x. Go on Jane, have a go at it.....show me how it should be done, I'll look out for it.Lol! Thank you very much Kirstie, you are very kind. Thanks for everything Alan, your little challenges are keeping me out of mischief and making me address area's I usually steer clear of.

A bit more of a subtle palette than my attempt and probably the better for it - really good interpretation Fiona

Thanks Michael, funny, I prefer your interpretation of Alan's sketch.

You did a good job on this, Fiona. I like it very, very much. I made a note to give it a go too and I feel guilty everytime I look at it. Probably a pen and wash version (what else for me?), definitely tomorrow! What size is your version?

Hi Mia, thank you so much for your lovely comment. The size is 12" x 9" on Arches. I think it would look fabulous in pen & wash, especially one of yours......go on have a go.

Very nice Fiona.

Thank you very much sarah.

You're too hard on yourself, Fiona, I'd be pleased as punch if I'd produced this little gem!

A very nice sketch Fiona, love the colours

Alan, I knew there was a reason I resisted buildings, and as you can see, this is it! They are all over the place. I was absolutely lost about how to tackle this....no colour etc. I left the sky fairly plain because of the detail, wish I hadn't. I also did the worst thing ever, for me, I used a smaller brush....arrrrr! Fiddled!!! Good practise though Alan...thank you once again.
