Scottish West Coast by Fiona Phipps

This is a delightful sketch, some super pen work and brushstrokes, and I particularly like the rocks and your loose and very casual style depicting the sea, excellent work, among one of your best in my opinion.

Your line and wash work is improving all the time Fiona and I also think this is one of your best. Good sense of distance with the strongly painted/detailed foreground rocks contrasted with the paler distant cliffs.

A brilliant piece Fiona, first one I see on my return is this, its great. Love the colours and the feeling of the waves crashing into the big leaning rocks, your pen work as always is spot on love it especially that broody looking sky.

Ahhh, the Scottish west coast, there is nowhere on earth just like it and this little beauty does it justice. You seem to know instinctively just how much pen and how much wash to achieve the perfect painting. Love the extra colours too.
