Thank you David, Spencer and Faye for you kind comment. I’m a little disappointed with the photo as it toned down the colours a tiny bit the reddish browns look more vibrant in the actual painting, but hey thats technology for you.

A4 watercolour on Bockingford paper. Imaginary scene of a tawny owl on a rotting tree , I like the idea of the similarities of the birds colours and the rotting tree. In the area behind the owl a branch has recently snapped off showing the brighter colours underneath. The owl is sitting on a rotted branch and I’ve tried to show how the tree heals its self leaving a callus / scare that would eventually cover the damaged area. Quite a small pallet used .
