Thank you Michael for your kind comment, I’m always amazed at the angles the seen to fly at but still stay airborne. The young are not pretty looking in fact they are quite ugly and very ungainly.

I like that a lot, Paul. I am a great admirer of barn owls and you have captured this one very well.

This is great Paul. I really like the tones and colours and the owl is well drawn to.

Very nice indeed Paul. How lucky are ypu to have such wonderful birds nearby.

A super painting of a beautiful bird, Paul.

Thank you David, David , Heather and Mia for your kind comments. They live in the old barn that we store our equipment in on the National Trust property where I volunteer as a countryside ranger. Luckily I get to see lots of different wild animals.

You have caught some great movement with this Paul a beautiful watercolour.

Thanks Denise for your lovely comment it’s very much appreciated.

How lovely to have this on your doorstep. Such a lovely painting of the owl Paul.

Thank you Carole for you kind comment.

Looking at this I’m a bit disappointed as it’s lost something in the photography it doesn’t seem as vibrant , must be the light ?.

They are such gorgeous birds. They make their ghostly way across the fields on silent wings, they seem to know something we don’t when you look into their faces. A super watercolour Paul.

I love your owl Paul and the title. Great work 😊

Thank you Fiona and Faye for your comments. Strange think Fiona in some cultures they are seen as stupid birds , and bad omens yet we revere them and have a lot of myths and stories about owls in general.

I feel the owl about to pick up it's prey quite intense well captured

Thank you for you kind comment Moira and taking time to look at my painting.

Good work Paul. They are beautiful birds aren't they.

Thank you George , yes they are beautiful birds and very delicate looking but very tough at the same time if I make sense.

The wings look powerful, you are very priveleged to be able to observe these lovely creatures close up.

Many thanks Anne for your comment.

Beautiful - it must be wonderful to watch these lovely creatures.

It fascinating and a privilege, it’s great watching g the young develop and learn to fly. I was look to see three young Kestrels take there first flight, a couple of weeks ago.

Your ability to capture the moment of the owl is increiable.

Thank you Judith, the a beautiful creatures to watch, and strangely relaxing to see them flying .

23x32 cm approx . Watercolour of barn owl quartering a field . I have been look to watch barn owl that live in a 300 year old barn , coming out to hunt in the early evenings to feed their young . Over the past ten years due to having a camera in the nest box I have watch , broods hatch and fledge . Beautiful creatures , however my favourite is the tawny, this year we had kestrel nesting in another box outside a different barn .
