Great contrast between foreground and background Paul.

A lovely country scene with the village nestling in the wooded valley!

Superb landscape Paul.

Super composition. We visited Hughenden earlier this year, it’s in a great location.

John, Anne,Stephen and Andrew thank you for your comments they are appreciated . It a great location Andrew , it’s the main base for the local NT and where I spent time running watercolour courses over a ten year period. Most of the time I was doing my Ranger bit in the woodlands that the NT own in the Chilterns .

Lovely rich greens, and a lovely backstory, Dixie.

You have managed the greens here superbly Paul. I like how the house is cozily nestled among the trees.

Carol and Carole thank you for your comments .

Looks great Paul, it's somewhere i would like to visit . It's nice to see how you've placed it in its beautiful setting.

Certainly got aerial perspective, and the landscape around the house looks voluminous. Nicely done.

I like it a lot, nicely painted and I enjoyed the back story too. !

Lots to like about this Paul, composition and all those greens work really well

Thank you Sarah, Gerry, Valerie and Heather I appreciate your comments . I’m always amazed by the hills when the farmer ploughs it , because it’s on chalk it has a patchwork of colours ranging from white , pale cream through to a deep caramel look. Then it’s gets a slight green tint as the crops germinate and start to show changes a the crop mature, painter delight matching the colours.

A delightful scene and painting!

Lovely country landscape Paul.

Beautiful 😍

Love the landscape Paul

Absolutely great, Paul, love the way the buildings nestle in their surroundings!

Watercolour painting, looking across the valley from the Manor House, the church behind the cottage’s is where Benjamin Disraeli is buried. He is buried between his wife and lady friend who provided him financial support throughout his life, including having the manor brought up to standard for a PM to live in . Queen Victoria with whom he had a good relationship visited him at Hughenden . Found it difficult to paint with so much green around the buildings, worried it would look flat .
