Good detail and colour, well done Paul.

Looks very good to me Dixie. I don’t know where you think you’ve not quite cracked it! The detail is all there.

A very recognisable Cotswold scene, Paul with a good composition and buildings- well done!

Thank you Stephen, Tessa and Anne for your kind comments. Well I will rest easier now I know it’s ok as Tessa said it’s all there . I’ve literally just noticed what’s was bugging me , at the side of the wheel, that white area should have a darker look to it, I knew there was something I hadn’t done , I remember thinking I will need to go back and do that . Best left alone and let it stand as it is , no doubt someone will look and think why is that area white .

An expressive watercolour with loads of interest and I like how you have painted the buildings Paul. Didn’t notice the side of the wheel as the overall composition is lovely.

oh so lovely done!!

Somewhere very inviting Paul

Delightful scene Paul.

Thank you Carole , Tanja, Heather and Denise for you very kind comments.

I really like it , your colours are beautiful.

Lovely scene, Paul.

Valarie and Jenny thanks for your comments they are appreciated.

I really like it Paul. I have been to lower slaughter mill and you have captured it really well.

Thank you David , one of the worries. when you paint a well known scene is how people view you take on it , fortunately it’s gone well.

Never been there despite driving through the Cotswolds several times a year. Looks good, and a lovely painting to boot.

You have captured the scene beautifully.

Thank you Andrew and Lynda , worth a visit .

You’ve painted it with some character which is always a bonus

Thank you Martin, I wanted it to show the age and usage it’s had , I didn’t want an architectural style, I think the say painterly is what I was hoping to achieve.

Nice painting Paul.

A4 watercolour of the watermill at Lower Slaughter , full description is on the WIP on the forum . I’m not over enthused with it , can’t point out why just something niggles me .

I have sketched most of my life on and off I became interested in watercolour following a spinal injury whilst in hospital but did not follow it up. My eldest daughter bought me a beautiful wooden box set of half pans about twenty five years ago I dabbled on and off until retirement twelve years…
