Lovely warm Autumn colours, and a nice sense of distance , I like it Paul !

This is lovely Paul.

I admire your spirit and determination Paul. If any of us can learn to adapt it is you. And that is a good landscape.

Wow that one Paul. Good social sense as well.

I write that again. Wow thats a good one Paul. And I like the sense of depth. I think the IA goes before you even before you think of the words.

That's a lovely painting, Paul, and well done for learning to adapt. Beautiful autumn colours. It is good to paint imaginery scenes which I have also done - one example is my painting called 'Winter'. Happy New Year.

Thank you all for your very kind comments I appreciate them .

Paul - I know that feeling; fortunately for me, it's only really a problem in my left hand, and I paint with my right. I presume you've broken that wrist at some point, and/or have carpal tunnel syndrome. You've done well to create a warm Autumnal watercolour with depth and interest.

Adapting the style to your own needs. Yes, I admire you for that too, Paul! You do it so well, and you don't paint to please "others", but for your own sake. I know the cross with the hands very well too (musician's dystonia) and that's why I can't paint such delicate things for many hours, I would get bad cramps in my hands. So I like to smile at attributes like "very simple". For me, it's just not very simple! The autumn landscape transforms these autumnal feelings beautifully. I think every time: I want to live here - there is still peace here.

Thank you Robert and Tanga for your comments . The thing is to do things in small increments and don’t give up .

A lovely gentle scene with a very nice palette plus far reaching views - well done, Paul!

Appealed to me straight away. And best wishes for adapting to suit your needs.

Thank you Anne and Sandra for your kind comments

I like the sense of space in this one Paul. And good luck with your relearning...I'm sure you'll do well.

Well done Dixie. Your urge to paint is obviously overwhelming your hand problems, you're an example to us all to keep at it.

I really like your viewpoint here Paul, the buildings nestling in the valley and the lake beyond. You have a good imagination. Well done for overcoming physical obstacles in your way

Beautiful Autumn colours Paul.

Gerry , Lew and Frank thank you for you very kind comments. I don’t know about being an inspiration Lew it’s just me I hate to give into something and hang on till the end unfortunately even if I know it’s not working sometimes. Once called thick head no sense , stubborn xxxxxxxxx I won’t add the last couple of words quite rude .

Thanks Shaun we must have been writing at the same time .

There’s a lot going on here Dixie with buildings and natural landscape. Great job particularly considering your fight with your hands

Thanks Martin, to be honest all those greens, brown etc in the background were a bit of a struggle to make it look ok. I do think distant foliage can be difficult , making it look natural and not one green flat area is quite a challenge.

Very good Paul and sorry to hear about your hand

Thank you Heather , lots of people are struggling with arthritis, tendon issues and pain in their hands on a daily basis it’s not easy but we all get on with things . It’s inevitable my right hand is affected as I had the same issues with the left for several years .

Excellent painting Paul, really good colours.

You can’t keep a ‘gud’un’ down Paul! A super record of a beautiful English country scene.

Thanks Fiona , we do what we do and do what we enjoy doing. The alternative to continuing with painting all be it in a different way, isn’t an option in my opinion.

Keep on keeping on Paul, terrific imagined view!

Thank you Spencer and Andrew for your kind comments.

You’ve done so well with that Paul. I love the beautiful brick and tile colours on the oast house and other buildings.

Thank you a Julie, I appreciate your comment.

A4 watercolour, partially imaginary scene first complete painting this year . I’m having trouble with my hand as the fingers keep locking so it’s very experimenting how to hold the brushes so it’s less painful. I’m not totally happy with the finished painting but accept that I’m need to change my style to suite my needs . Still it’s better than it being able to paint by a long way , it’s also interesting having to relearn .

I have sketched most of my life on and off I became interested in watercolour following a spinal injury whilst in hospital but did not follow it up. My eldest daughter bought me a beautiful wooden box set of half pans about twenty five years ago I dabbled on and off until retirement twelve years…
