Using up the waste by Paul (Dixie) Dean

I love the winter light Paul , its my favourite kind of scene too.

Good way to use up paint, nicely done.

Like a bit of spontaneity!

Lovely exercise Paul. I like how skilfully you’ve painted the trees shapes on the water field, so supple but prominent at same time.

Thank you all for your kind comments I do appreciate them all. I think as it’s the waste your using up you just relax that little bit more and I have a reasonably cheep paper so not bothering to much about the finish. Good for messing about and trying different things to see how it goes.

A great result Paul and especially that feeling of a chill in the year you have created so successfully.

I was just sitting there looking at a blank piece of paper with brush in hand but nothing happened. Thought I’d look at the gallery for inspiration and here it is, a spontaneous sketch. Well done Paul 👍

This has worked well, Paul. I especially like the fairly abstract bottom half and the lovely glow behind the trees.

Katy I do like to just sit and paint what comes to mind , sometimes it works others not so good but then inspires and cane lead into another painting.
