I love the winter light Paul , its my favourite kind of scene too.

Good way to use up paint, nicely done.

Love this Paul- sometimes these kind of paintings work out so well.

Like a bit of spontaneity!

Lovely exercise Paul. I like how skilfully you’ve painted the trees shapes on the water field, so supple but prominent at same time.

A really interesting piece.

Thank you all for your kind comments I do appreciate them all. I think as it’s the waste your using up you just relax that little bit more and I have a reasonably cheep paper so not bothering to much about the finish. Good for messing about and trying different things to see how it goes.

A great result Paul and especially that feeling of a chill in the year you have created so successfully.

What a great idea - and what a lovely result!

I was just sitting there looking at a blank piece of paper with brush in hand but nothing happened. Thought I’d look at the gallery for inspiration and here it is, a spontaneous sketch. Well done Paul 👍

A lot of immediacy and atmosphere in this piece, Paul. Very nicely done!

This has worked well, Paul. I especially like the fairly abstract bottom half and the lovely glow behind the trees.

Thank you all for your lovely comments, it amazes me that you can paint something without really worrying or working at it and it get such good comments . Katy I do like to just sit and paint what comes to mind , sometimes it works others not so good but then inspires and cane lead into another painting.

beautifully Paul!

Beautiful Paul, love the atmospheric winter feel to it

Thank you Tanja and Cheryl for you kind comments.

This is a lovely painting Paul

Very effective Paul - love that sky. I have to admit though that my first thoughts were ‘is that a tardis amongst the trees’!

Marjorie, Rachel and Frank thank you for you kind comments, Frank I thought much the same but decided to leave , it the but of white I added to the roof didn’t work out so well.

Good use of left overs Paul……love the sky!

Good spontaneous use of materials Paul, I especially like the depth in the trees

A great spontaneous water colour Paul with a lovely glow in that sky.

Such a great scene Paul. What a great way to use your waste paint.

Fiona , Trevor , Val and Spencer thank you for you very kind comments.

Like the spontaneity!

Thank you Romila I appreciate your comment.

Missed this! I always like the using up paints picture, as you say you’re probably more relaxed and not pressured and that works well. Like it.

Thanks Tessa, Pity we aren’t that relaxed other times .

Lovely tones and freedom of marks

Delightful Paul.
