Damp wet woodlands.

This is excellent, I liked the first in this series but feel this is better. Just my opinion.

I agree with Lewis, definitely even better and a good one.

Once again, Dixie, you have come up trumps with your painting of trees! The detail in this one is absolutely superb. The texture you have achieved on the trunk and branches is very good indeed!

Lew, Heather and David thank you for your very kind comments.

Lovely composition and the greens are spot on for such places. Really good!

Such wonderful textures here Paul and l love how you’ve painted this.

Like them both very much!!!

This is superb Paul! The tree has a great feel to it. Lovely colours too. The paper used is lovely, out of interest what make is it?

Simply stunning Paul.

Another excellent picture ☺️

Very good Paul, both of these paintings have been great.

Many thanks for your kind comments, Martin, Carole, Valerie, David, Chris , Stephen, Hayam and Andrew.

It’s superb Paul and the use of the beautiful handmade paper was inspired as it adds a wonderful texture.

Lovely Paul.

Beautiful, Paul. Like your tree portraits very much.

Thank you Sarah I appreciate you taking the time to look and comment. David I don’t know the make of the paper, I bought it from Amazon last year sometime. It’s made in India fro linen abd as it’s not a well known manufacturer it was actually very cheap. I like it and think it possibly the best one I’ve ever used , the down side is it’s very rough so you do need to pick your subject to paint . No problem wet in wet and it need little fastening down as it quite thick , I definitely recommend it.

You do some cracking woodland scenes Dixie! Another good one and I like the hazy distance work.

Thanks Tessa I really enjoyed painting this and I think it’s much easier if it’s a subject you know and love to do.

This is so lovely Paul. You’ve really captured the entwining branches and there are some wonderful textures.

Thank you for your kind comments Spencer and Romila

A looser and more relaxed painting than the last posting Paul but perhaps that has come about because you were there in your head…..and enjoying your surroundings.

I like the composition of this one, Paul, but also liked the brighter greens in your previous painting.

Thank you Fiona and Jenny , I have a couple more planned some wil have the brighter green due to the light .

Like this one best Paul. Less greens and more negative space. Works really well.

Thank you Sylvia and Coral for you kind comments. I like the fist one because I used brighter colours than I normally would , and I like this one slightly more as I felt very comfortable and in control painting it. If I’m honest I was a bit concerned about the other painting as I was doing it , much more confidence here.

This is superb! Love the looseness of it and the composition

Thank you Anne for your much appreciated comment.

Another interesting artwork Paul! It's not always to get just details done, it's important to tell the story as well... I like the story tale, and I do enjoy your paintings Paul ;)

Thanks Art for your comment it’s appreciated.

A4 watercolour on handmade rough watercolour paper , the paper is made from old linen . British rainforests are under threat from global warming and air pollution etc , the remnants off the very old forests are on the western side of Britain . Such beautiful places need preserving where possible. Second in my series of paintings this one is much lees detailed and more loose looking.
