Wet woodlands

Comments

It’s a good effect Paul, and you’ve set yourself a project......passing on your enthusiasm to your gdaughter.

You have captured the rainy woodland well, Paul - lovely colours too! ( Nice that your grand-daughter is interested in painting now.)

Thank you Fiona and Anne for your kind comments. Both my youngest granddaughter love painting and over the years have spent quite a lot of time helping me to paint and painting for me. It’s the first time that the eldest of the two had wanted to know the techniques of a particular painting , hopefully she will continue her interest , their mum is a very good artist but doesn’t have the time theses days .

This is a really nice effect Paul and in fifteen minutes that is some going. I feel that I can almost touch the wet branches here. How very noble of you to take you granddaughter under your wing and show her how its done. I am confident that you will make a great teacher.

Really like this Paul, great spontaneity. Look forward to your granddaughters postings in the future!

Lovely and wet!

Many thanks John, Michael, Katy and Heather for you kind comments. I think it will be a long time before she posts anything Katy , she’s only nine and had more important thing to do I think .

This is lovely Paul and your granddaughter will enjoy having a try.

Thank you Denise for you kind comment.

A 24x32 cm watercolour on 200gsm paper . I have a similar painting on the wall that has fascinated my granddaughter for years. She asked how I had painted so I explained about soaking the paper and adding the paint and letting it do it’s own thing. She would not believe me and thought I was teasing her , so her the demo I did for her in fifteen minutes. Quite impressed young girl now want to have a go , yes I said good next time she is around we will go for it .

I have sketched most of my life on and off I became interested in watercolour following a spinal injury whilst in hospital but did not follow it up. My eldest daughter bought me a beautiful wooden box set of half pans about twenty five years ago I dabbled on and off until retirement twelve years…
