A cracker. I enjoyed watching its progress on the forum.

Great result Paul, it all holds together nicely…

Boats hauled up. Well done Paul, a place very familiar to me.

Lew , Alan and John many thanks for your comments and advice when I was working on this piece, it’s one of the most enjoyable ones I’ve done for a while I also enjoyed the challenge of the pebble beach.

Lovely. Good strong colours on those boats makes them really stand out.

A super variation of colourful boats Paul and a well blanched composition.

A beautiful painting, Paul - a lovely variety of boats, the riggings are so good and the cheeky seagulls!

Like this, Paul - subject, composition and colours. (It would be great to see you do it again in the pen and wash style you used recently for another boat scene - thought that was one of your best.)

Excellent result Dixie.

Very good - I live hear Hastings - those boats are lovely and colourful and the pebbles just right

A very nice composition and result Paul.

I've watched this develop on the forum Paul, a terrific result!

The orange in the boat really pops against the blue sea. Lots to look at too.

Superb boats Paul….as always. I like the detritus a scattered around the scene too.

Thanks Fiona , there is so much stuff around the boats at Hastings, well there used to be don’t know if it’s still the same , quite fascinating looking some of it .

Watercolours on A3 paper fishing boats on Hastings beach set in the mid 1960s , not as many boats there anymore sadly. I liked the format as it allowed me to show a bigger area of beach and more boats without it being cramped looking. The biggest challenge was the pebble effect on the beach as I didn’t want it to overwhelm the boats , the process of painting this is on the forum.
