Like your boat pictures very much Paul.

Masts and wires look wobble-free to me, Paul. Nice one.

Thank you John , Stephen and David I appreciate your comments.

No sign of any wobble Paul and a very fine tug indeed.

Very good painting Paul and I can’t see any wobbly lines.

Super work Paul.

A fine painting Paul.

As far as I’m concerned you can’t go wrong with vintage ships and tugs…you do them so well.

A nice nostalgic painting Paul and done very well despite the problem with your hands.

Thank you everyone for the kind comments, I appreciate each one.

Beautiful painting, love it !

Love that Tug Paul!

That's an excellent tug-boat, Paul - great movement too!

Thank you Valerie , Trevor and Anne I appreciate your comments .

Always like your imagination in action Paul

Thank you Heather , I enjoyed painting this it’s the first marine painting I’ve done in a while .

Fine painting Dixie, and I always appreciate your background information. As a child I grew up in Cardiff which then had working docks (now long gone) and my dad would drive us around looking at the different boats, tugs etc, all fascinating.

Thank you Tessa , yes Cardiff and Barry had large docks I remember going to St Athen via both the above on the train, I was also impressed with Woodhams scrap yard ,full of steam engines.

Oh yes! Great job Paul!

Thanks Alan , I’ve tried to keep the detailing less in this painting and wasn’t sure about it to be honest but that’s me fretting about less details.

A4 watercolour painting , imaginary scene of a tug pulling alongside an outbound cargo ship , both hard working vessels showing signs of fair wear and tear. There’s little boats were constantly on the go before the 1960/70 s when Britain was a maritime power, the docks were working day and night. Sadly now all but gone one massive container ship will bring cargo that originally would fill several ships. Bit wobbly in places as hands playing up today .

About the Artist
Paul (Dixie) Dean

I have sketched most of my life on and off I became interested in watercolour following a spinal injury whilst in hospital but did not follow it up. My eldest daughter bought me a beautiful wooden box set of half pans about twenty five years ago I dabbled on and off until retirement twelve years…
