Yes, I much prefer these old wooden trawlers with an abundance of character…nicely done Paul!

A lovely sketch Paul. Full of atmosphere.

Heather , Alan, David and John many thanks for your kind comments. My love of marine art is definitely around these old trawlers, sailing barges and steam cargo ships Alan , all full of character and charm. Very different to the modern streamlined super container carries , I like all the derricks , funnels , masts and rigging etc

I love your boats Paul they’re so full of character

Many thanks for your comment Cheryl, Elaine and Spencer.

A4 pencil sketch of a steam drifter heading out for the fishing grounds. These old boats were often call herring boats or drifters , at one point there were thousands of them running out of British ports , Hull, Aberdeen, Lowestoft , Brixham and many more sadly not so many modern trawlers these days. One large Chinese vessel Candy trawl as much fish as many twenty normal size vessels or more and damages the sea bed as it pulls up everything with its metal edge nets.
