Definitely full of drama Paul!

Powerful image, great waves.

A time limit is a good practice Paul. It’s a life on the ocean waves i see here.

40 minutes!? This is excellent for any length of time Dixie, with super movement. 👏🏼

Thank you all so much for your kind comments. I don’t think I could have done it slower Tessa because I would have worried and faffed about to much. I honestly worked on the idea that it’s a fast moving sea so paint it fast and I would certainly do it the same way another time .

It feels full of drama, just as it should. I bet it gave you a buzz!

The colours really express the mood!

Thank you Cheryl and Marjorie for your comments I appreciate them . Yes it did give me a buzz Marjorie it felt quite exciting to do , nice when that happens.

The result is masterful Paul! I do enjoy your boat paintings!!

Wonderful Paul.

Great job here Paul…the sea is excellent, including that potentially ‘rogue’ wave!

Thank you all for your kind comments. I’m surprised at the lovely response , I honestly didn’t think it was that good I was not going to post it but thought be interesting to see what folk think about it .

Another lovely painting, I love the colours you use in your paintings.

Thank you Valery for you lovely comment, I haven’t really thought about it but I suppose I use the same colours a lot but with a different hue and density. You have me thinking about it now and that’s a good thing .

Wouldn't want to be in that boat Paul, very good action painting

Captures the movement really well

Thank you Heather and Martin I appreciate you taking the time to comment.

Your boats are always excellent Paul but I wouldn't like to be on that one in those seas!

Very impressive Paul. I like the colours you have uxed, that tinge of green in th trough of wate. Looks good. Well done.

Vale and Ruth thank you for your very kind comments I appreciate them .

You have captured those waves! Reminds me of a summer I spent as a deckhand on a trawler. We got caught in a Force 9 storm and the keel was literally coming out of the water as your painting shows. Fortunately the skipper decided to head for home rather than keep fishing.

You can sense the ship pushing through the waves. Good one Paul.

Thank you John and Spencer I appreciate your comment. I would have been very ill in a sea like that I get sea sick on a duck pond John .

This turned out Great! I don't do many seascapes, either.

A4 in A3 mount watercolour painting of a tug in the breakers , I have avoided painting seas as wild as this for ages and today set my self a forty minute time limit. Just went for it and slapped the paint on not very detailed but in quite happy with it . Think the trick is just do it the sea is running fast by working fast I kept it loose . Value your comments.
