Stunning - just love how those shadows enhance the painting!!

I think this one is brilliant Diana, even better than the last. You're back on a creative roll I think.

Superb Diana. You really have a way of capturing light and shadows.

As always, superbly painted.

Gorgeous painting Diana and a great idea to include the shadows

A different angle to the norm… and those shadows really grab the attention - that’s what makes this an exceptional piece of work.

Glad that the path moving in the right direction 🙂. The flowers are just gorgeous.

So dramatic Diana.

Superb work Diana, those shadows are beautifully done as are the flower heads .

Thank you David. The shadows were the reason I painted this. Beautiful drama Thank you Heather. I agree with you that it’s an improvement . The previous one got overworked in parts but was a good starting point. Thank you Christine. I’m always attracted to dramatic light play. This was a joy. Thank you Stephen. This one seemed to flow from the start. Thank you Willie. Those shadows were wonderful .

Thank you Alan. Apart from being rather less refined, the previous painting ran out of space to fit the shadows in ! Thank you Gudrun. I’m hoping the motivation continues. This beautiful weather we’re having here certainly helps. Thank you Elaine. I thought the shadows were dramatic too

Thank you Paul. I had a voice in my head saying’leave it now, walk away’ Trying not to overwork Thanks Chris. I appreciate your interest again Thanks Russell. It’s a great feeling when you feel satisfied with a piece where nothing is niggling

Another really lovely one Diana. Gorgeous colours within the shadows.

Very dramatic!

Wow. Stunning second version. Take a bow Diana

Brilliant - colours, shadows, composition.

Thanks very much Julie. I loved those shadows Thank you Lynda. It really was full of drama Thanks Martin. I think this version has more to its merit in several areas. Thank you Federico. Much appreciated Many thanks John. One of those scenes that really grabs your artistic interest

Super Diana. The flowers are so well painted but the shadows finish it beautifully.

Half imperial watercolour on Saunders Waterford rough 300lb paper. Like so many arts practices , it’ needs practice and I can feel the path from my brain to the brush is closing. Happy with this one.
