Extremely expressive Diana. These oils look mature as well.

You have obviously mastered watercolour techniques, so moving on to oils a natural progression. Lovely painting, with various ways of mark making. Lovely! - Well done!

Beautiful, love the colours and composition

This is great, I love the textures, colour and imagery

How wonderful to have such ancient oils, and they still look great! I have some that I haven’t used for about four years as I started using the water mixable then. Think I might have to dig them out Diana, you’ve inspired me to do so!

Evening John and thanks. These paints are in better condition than the owner 😂 Thank you Linda. I’m looking forward to a few days of oil painting. After that I might get something else out that’s gathering dust. I found a pack of 50 sheets of watercolour paper today that I didn’t even know I had! Thank you Anjana. The colours in the cliffs are incredible. Thank you Heather. I intended it to be more formed but I liked the semi abstract finish. Yes, I hope you enjoy using them Tessa. You know what they say about a change and a rest

So dynamic Diana, and I just know your foray into oils will be as successful as your other artistic endeavours.

Love the palette and loose brush strokes. I bet you enjoyed it very much.

Lovely, juicy brushstrokes with an intriguing composition Diana. We learn so much from just messing around, enjoying mediums.

Beautiful use of shapes and light. Nicely done, Diana!

Great palette, interesting painting Diana.

Thank you for all these encouraging comments. I read every one with great interest and appreciation

Oil on canvas. 12’’ x 9 ‘’ I’ve wanted to get my ancient oils out for ages. I say ancient, some are 1976!! I don’t know much about oil technique or theory so tried a little piece to get the feel of things I bought some new oils at Patchings several years ago but haven’t used them. I enjoyed four hours of being totally engrossed in experimentation
