I like this, and the spatter must have been fun to do. 'Playing around' with art is one of the very best things to do, and you have a fine result.

Sorry I haven’t got back to you all earlier. A lot going on in my life at the moment. I truly am overwhelmed by your generous encouragement and you have certainly made me feel less of a failure. There are so many wonderful watercolours on this site that I would love to aspire to but I really don’t have the courage to let w/c to do its own thing. Hopefully after a bit more practice I will have more confidence to tackle something serious. A great big thank you to all of you who having the time to look and comment so positively. 🌞🌞🌞🌞

I agree with most of the comments below Carole. its fun, tons of movement, love the muted colours, certainly worth trying out. to be absolutely honest the butterfly enhances the painting, but I'm not sure the white edge doesn't detract from it, and I'm not even sure why, but I seem to be only one who thinks that and you're the artist. A bit of playing around with watercolour and making a mess. Here is the result. Well I may improve in the next 20 years when I’m in my centenary years. W/c on cold pressed paper 8” x 10”.
