Forgot to say. This is 51 x 41 cms oil on canvas board. The picture quality is much better than the old site. Has the ante been upped?

I remember the original discussion on the forum...very interesting to get people's thoughts on their art. This is brilliant. Great mood, love the way it's lit...it has epic qualities.

Really like the final version Brian

I believe that the coloured version was a sunset which I offered advice on!, I’m probably wrong... Anyway, fabulous toned painting Brian, really has worked well.

Wow, that was quick. Thank you very much, Lewis and Heather, for the highly encouraging comments. Always appreciated. It's good to see and hear from you both again and good to be back in the game. Yes, Lew, it really is interesting to get other peoples' thoughts. I totally agree. Bri

No, you're right, Alan. I remember your advice and our exchanges very well. You actually encouraged me to have a bash at the monochromatic version because the atmosphere would be so different. You were spot on. Delighted you like this version. Bri

Wow.. Stunning Brian. 👍🏻

Thank you for the kind comments, Rachel. Much appreciated. Bri

Love this version Brian, really dramatic.

Thank you very much, Russell and Linda, for the great support. Much appreciated. The funny thing is, to get the greys I wanted I had to mix a few colours, including phthalo blue, cad red, primary yellow, cad yellow (a touch for the brightest spots), paynes grey and titanium white. I enjoyed the experimenting. Bri

Really like this Brian- the colours, the atmosphere And especially the light on the water.

Thank you very much, Christine, for the kind comments. I'm pleased the light is having an effect. Much appreciated. Bri

Super tonal values Brian and especially with those waves, so subtly painted. Really like the way you have painted the birds in the background, so understated but extremely effective in giving some life to your painting.

Very atmospheric Brian, so peaceful.

Thank you very much indeed, Carole and Carole, for the great comments. Always appreciated. Some super and very encouraging observations there, Carole K, and I'm delighted you liked how this one turned out. Thanks for letting me know. Best to both Bri

I remember your coloured version and this is equally as good if not better Bri. That sky is brilliant.

Thank you very much, Val, for the brilliant comments. Much appreciated, as always. I'm so pleased you remembered the colour version and chuffed to bits that you prefer this one, because so do I. *smile* Bri

Inspiring awesome creation

Thank you very much, Robert, for the kind comments. Appreciated.

I finally got round to painting a monochromatic seascape. I don't know if anyone will remember but I initially painted a colour version then followed it with a charcoal sketch to help with the tones. This is the final result in oil. I've added a trio of birds because it felt like the right thing to do. LOL
