I quite often, but not always, judge a picture by weather I would hang it on my wall and this is one that would definitely go up where I could look at it.

Thank you Janet for a lovely compliment.

I love the muted colours, along with the beautiful scene. Fabulous, Barry.

Thank you Ellen but I need to give much of the credit to Herman.

Oops I spelt whether wrong. Still the painting is still beautiful even if my spelling isn't.

It's absolutely charming. The muted colours and perspective are a treat, and those foreground trees are a tour de force. Brian

Love it Barry, it has a misty early morning look, the distant town is perfectly rendered.

Caught my eye with this one Barry. Well. Done, skilful.

Thank you Brian, Lewis and John I really appreciate your comments.

Beautifully atmospheric. The washes and perspective are superb.

Simply wonderful Barry, you have caught that atmosphere well

Thank you Seok and David I really appreciate the comments about atmosphere as I was trying to create a misty early morning look. My early morning walks at Dedham Hall along the Stour when there is a bit of moisture about are a great inspiration.

This really appeals Barry. Simple, hazy and yet sets its own scene. Lovely work.

Love the hard and soft edges with a misty feel to this wonderful scene, very attractive painting Barry.

Thank you Jim and Carole for such lovely comments.

Some paintings are just lovely to look at Barry and this is one of those, from the suggestions in the distant background to the dark foreground. Just lovely.

This is nice Barry has that spontaneous feel to it which is so difficult to achieve , very nice mate, I'd hang it up on my wall too.

Perfect Barry a really great balance

Wonderful! The tree on the left is inspired. Just noticed the pun ...

Thank you Rachel, Dennis, Dennis and Gudrun, observations, compliments and even the odd pun what more could I ask for?

Great work again

Barry, you’re an absolute genius! This has it all, and yes, I would hang this on my wall too. You had better get another half dozen painted Barry!

A beautiful scene Barry. I like the muted colours they look so soft and dreamy.

Good painting - I like the colours and the style,

Beautiful painting with a great tutor, Barry.

Barry, this is a cracker! It has all the ingredients for a successful and very striking watercolour.

Thank you Timothy, Fiona, Margaret, Maureen, Cesare and Diana I am very much encouraged by your comments and have a view of Salisbury Cathedral that might suit similar treatment.

It is beautiful!

Thank you Monica I appreciate your comment.

Based on a painting I did when on a course with Herman Pekel last year. The colour in the original was stronger and I wondered how it would look if they were muted slightly. Painted on Arches 95llb rough.
