The ink and wash certainly deliveres a powerful painting , I like the spontaneous feel of this one and those gorgeous reflections, nice one Barry.

Thank you Dennis, yes I like the lights that can be created with the dark of the ink.

Effortless as usual, Barry. Great!

Great work again

Thank you Lewis and Timothy, it’s a medium I enjoy and am comfortable working with and it probably shows.

Lovely work Barry. A true representation that has me reaching for an umbrella.

Superb lighting, great contrasts Barry the distant sun haze is beautiful.

Great painting 😃

I like this technique you use very well, Barry.

Thank you Jim, Carole, Linda and Cesare, glad you like the sun haze Carole I had a debate with myself about whether I should include it or not. Keep the umbrella close Jim there is more on the way!!

Smashing work - very wet

Superb again Barry beautiful painting

Thank you Chas and Dennis, thankfully I did manage to get the washes to give the impression of a wet day.

Has a very Parisienne feel Barry, works well.

This is stunning, Barry. Do you use acrylic inks?

Thank you Stephen and Ellen, I think it’s the very wide pavements Stephen. Haven’t used acrylic inks for several years Ellen although I do often think that I should use them for some initial washes where I don’t want them to lift.

What a great wet scene Barry, very believable.

Fantastic ink work Barry and beautiful washes....make a wonderful painting.

I can feel the feet sliding on the pavement as I am obviously not wearing sensible shoes.

Lovely work Barry, love the figures and reflections

Thank you Margaret, Fiona, Gudrun and David, umbrellas and sensible shoes are definitely the order of the day.

Great technique. You can rarely see dry brush technique with ink. Very well done. Bravo. :)

Thank you Marialena, it’s due to me using a sharpened matchstick rather than a pen to apply the ink. It allows a greater variety of marks especially when applied on a paper with a little tooth.

So Well Done!

Thank you John, Maureen and Skylar.

I think you are well ON the WAY. Great atmosphere.

Thank you Patricia much appreciated.

Continuing with my ink and wash theme and adding a brush to apply some of the ink. A lovely rainy day in Paris.
