Great touch of nostalgia Barry, superb.

Grand piece of work. I like your additions to what was seen, and the four-person challenge sounds like a great artistic and social idea.

Really nice this one Barry.

Lovely nostalgic peace Barry, sadly I can remember steam trains!

Beautiful work, Barry.

Top stuff again Barry.

You’ve captured the atmosphere superbly Barry.

You can't beat a steam train Barry! This is great as you have really captured the atmosphere of the time.

Love the idea of your two weekly challenge Barry and this is really well done and very atmospheric.

You've captured this scene very well with your great free watercolour style.

A big Thank you to everyone we do test ourselves with these challenges and getting a result with this one was satisfying to say the least.

Well balanced, good composition Barry. Love old steam engines!

Very well accomplished challenge Barry the additional uprights add so much

I can see another painting developing from this by cropping and just using the right hand side of this give a really strong composition. Love the colours here.

Thank you Carole,Dennis and Margaret glad you liked my bit of nostalgia.

Thank you Julia you have confirmed a thought I had about the right ride being a picture in its own right. It’s nice to have your thoughts confirmed by others as they are not as invested in the work.

Very atmospheric Barry. Love it.

Thank you Dorothy.

I used loose washes and a lot of simplification especially on the steam engine which probably won’t please the purists but I think the inclusion of some upright elements in the telegraph poles and signals which weren’t in the the original image helped.
