Fabulous detailed acrylic - welld one to you!

You are so talented Alice whatever the subject or medium, this is just beautiful. As you mention, the out of focus background brings your Robin and branch forward to take centre stage.

Acrylic 30x30cm. We rarely get snow in Cornwall, so to see this little robin perched on a snowy branch was a treat. He was very friendly- no doubt hoping for a crumb or two! In this painting, I tried to get the sense of distance with the background out of focus. I enjoyed observing & painting the abstract shapes and colours of the bark of the branches which I didn't notice at first glance. The textures and colours of the robin's plumage were built up in multiple layers using several sizes of brushes.
