'The Road Less Travelled' acrylic on box canvas, 1mx50cm
I stumbled across this bridleway near my home in West Cornwall. I love the deep furrows that the tractors and farm vehicles have left and the beautiful rolling countryside framed by wild foliage. As I painted it, I felt it became more mysterious. What is around the dark bend in the track up ahead? Where is it leading? Should I try and find my way through to the lovely countryside bathed in sunkight beyond, or carry on down this path to who knows where? I hope the viewer asks some questions of their own...
