Just a quick word to say that working on a set theme or subject, and developing it in different ways, can create an interesting set of work. One idea leads on to another if you like. I find this easier and more interesting to develop a theme, rather than switching from one subject to another. That's just how I like to work of course, we all work in different ways.

You have got something here Alan, super forms and sense of space.

Another beauty Alan, I especially like the colours in the rocks. Looking forward now to no. 6.

I like your style, and colours, awaiting no 6...

I like the textures very much Alan, sky great and lovely brushmarks. A wonderful series.

Great series of paintings this Alan. I realise looking at this how effective your brush strokes are (an aspect I neglect)

Another beauty, Alan. Love it.

Really good textures on this Alan and also the colours on the rocks go great together.

I feel that this should be a Scottish scene Alan, the way you've painted the rocks makes me think of tartan. A great addition to your series but, sorry Alan, my favourite is No 5, once I've seen No 6 though I might be changing my mind:)

Beautiful colours use in the rocks and the whole composition is very attractive.

Goodness me...they just get betterer and betterer! This is stunning , Alan, especially the rocks. Can't wait for the next one!!!

I like this one, Alan. In particular those colourful rocks.

Great colours in the cliffs and rocks Alan.

Really good Alan, the rocks and shadows are great.

The whole painting has fabulous structure Alan.....brush marks and dabs of paint bring it alive.

And yet again some smashing comments from those of you who took the time and trouble to comment. Thank you all so much.

This is my favourite too - I like its almost abstract quality: and I do like a bit of blue sea now and then.

Cheers Robert, appreciated.

Outstanding. Confident and bold. Well worthy of a place in the strap! Nice work Alan.

20 x 40cm oil on board. Same MO as the others in this series, and this is number five of six. Thank you for some great comments on the others, this one is my favourite so I hope that you like it. Not the succulent turquiose water this time, but I wanted some variation accross this mini-series.
