Beautifully painted Alan, I do like the detailing it not overdone. The blue shade looks really good and adds a coolness you make these paintings look so easy but I know it’s skill that achieves that look .

This is really good Alan, I particularly like the effects you've achieved on the stone and brickwork

Fabulous, I love the blend of colour in the shadows Alan. Also the unfinished edges.

I like the raw edges and it’s nice to see the under drawing in places.

Very successful Alan, I like the looseness of the marks you have made.

Love the pen work and warm colours. I also like the unfinished edges, an appealing style.

U have achieved a beautiful blend of sketch band color to create a unique urban scene

Love it Alan, wonderful scene.

Very interesting to examine, Alan. Great mark making and textures, excellent palette reflecting around the sketch.

Great work!

Your mixed media combinations seem to work very well here Alan. Very effective.

Top work again Alan. The textures are excellent.

This is lovely Alan, love the colour combinations and it’s not overdone-

Another super painting Alan, I particularly like the idea of using dry brushwork to achieve texture; very good.

Enjoying your recent mixed media pieces. It's very easy to get precious about doing stuff in one medium, particularly watercolour, but you can get some great results when you mix things up. This is a lovely piece.

Another cracker Alan, you never stand still do you?!

Simply superb Alan.

Thanks a lot guys, so pleased you liked my buildings. Always looking for something different to draw as a change from landscapes!

It's master's touch in here!

The details in this are superb - they are precise but don’t look over done - if you get my drift.

Love the textures you’ve created Alan. Super painting altogether

Oh wow! Impressive work Alan!

Excellent work!

I agree with all of the above Alan, I really like this.

I’m late as usual Al but no less impressed……a wonderful collection of marks and media.

Oh I do like this! So beautiful.

This is gorgeous

Pen and ink, pastel, watercolour and gouache! I’ve used a 30x40cm Eco Hahnemuhle Agave 290g watercolour block - the image is a bit smaller but it’s always useful to work on larger format paper. I’ve incorporated some dry brush work to try and achieve the illusion of texture on the buildings… I’m not keen on flat, insipid washes, I’m always looking to add some interesting textures when the opportunity arises - But, with caution, you can easily overdo it!
