Perfect Alan - great colour beautifully controlled.

Really does looks like a misty morning. Very effective.

Don't share your disappointment Alan, the colours in the sky and reflections are superb. Quite a view to wake up to.

Very nice Alan..especially like those larger trees, left side and the colours of course!

That's beautiful Alan

Those colour are so majestic and blend beautifully Alan. Love the reflections.

Wonderful painting, Alan, great atmosphere.

It’s a moment captured, Alan. I think the colours say it all.

I agree with Shaun, this is perfect, superb palette and I like the way you've handled the foreground with those brush marks.

I'm surprised you're disappointed, Alan. The colours help to present the time of day very well indeed, and the sun works perfectly. Did you include its reflection at any time? Great work. Bri

Thanks guy's, glad you think it's OK. Brian, if you mean the reflection from the sun, well that would be right at the base cutting off the painting, didn't look good.

Love those the trees on the left, Alan, and that sky colour.

I think this works really well, Alan, stop beating yourself up, this is your immediate response and it positively shines through as such!

Love the distant tree colour Alan, a really beautiful painting.

It turned out so well Alan, the sky is gorgeous and the mist can be seen hanging over the trees. Smashing!

Vert atmospheric Alan, I love the orange glow of the sky

I love the colours and atmosphere. Great painting.

What can I say but brilliant as always Alan

The completed WIP that I posted a week or so ago. This was the view that I was greeted with at 7.30am. A gorgeous subdued sunrise with the early mist rising from the river. I quickly painted in the main framework and colours from my studio window, paying close attention to the sky colour and graduation, as I wanted this to be as accurate as possible. Finished off later with reference from my earlier photo. Always useful to have reference when you have a limited time frame with the changing sky and conditions. It does all look a bit grey, but that’s how it was. I’m not overly pleased with it but that’s painting for you as we all know. The first stage painted live had more going for it.
