Works very well Alan, the barges are a lovely feature aren't they? I know they very are very inefficient compared to modern craft but much nicer to the artist.

Its another great painting Alan, I love the way you've captured the light coming through to reflect on the sea.

Beautiful composition an colours Alan

Lovely Alan a bit more moody than usual, great use of the barges in silhouette.

Lovely stuff Alan. Nice work with the lighting and silhouette effects and a painting well worthy of framing.

Thanks Stephen, Linda, Petra, Barry and Jim, you are all too kind. This was a quick blast earlier before continuing with a larger piece that I am working on, they can be quite good fun to do of course.

I really like this Alan, such a beautiful sky and the boats look so good!

I might just have a little wall space for this one Alan! Absolutely gorgeous!

Works for me Alan. Great sky, a little bit of sparkle and those dark barges with just a touch of red...perfect.

I like this a lot Alan, well what's not to like!

A lovely piece Alan, Great sky and love the addition of the barges which adds interest.

High quality painting, Alan, great work.

Your work is NEVER boring Alan! These colours once again are just wonderful!

Lovely painting Alan. Sailing barges are such wonderful iconic vessels.

Nice and fresh again, love the light you achieve, super painting.

Splendid Alan , they are beautiful looking craft a super painting good enough to grace any wall

A wonderful light or should I say moonlight Alan, so atmospheric.

Hi Alan , thank you for the kind comments on my latest . The name of the paper is Icon and it's very cheap as in 10 euro for 12 sheets of 12 x 16 ; I used to use it to test colours on until I seen how beautifully they blended if left alone . The secret with this paper is you wet it thoroughly get the colour on rapidity as it dries really quickly and don't touch it till it dries , you can put background trees in when it's really wet and the paint will not cauliflower but spread slowly and beautifully. I will post an example tomorrow of wet on wet lovely soft trees , it's amazing to watch the paint on the surface drying

I know it's all been said, it is a very attractive painting, with the light reflecting on the sea, and the boats.

Oil on board 12 x 20in. Basic stuff just to get me started this morning. An otherwise boring composition can always be helped with a few of these wonderful old craft added.
